Orthovisc
Orthovisc is an ultra-pure and non-animal viscosupplement indicated for the treatment of osteoarthritis (OA) in the knee joints. It is injected to treat the pain caused by osteoarthritis. The product is delivered in a single-use syringe and it is injected into the joint. It is repeated with 3 to 4 intra-articular injections, one week apart. Orthovisc lubricates and protects the knee joint, providing pain reduction for up to 6 months.
Orthovisc: Pain reduction in a single-use syringe
Orthovisc consists of an ultra-pure, high molecular weight injectable hyaluronic acid (HA) viscosupplement. It is comprised of highly purified sodium hyaluronate (NaHA) and is both biocompatible and resorbable. The effect of the treatment with Orthovisc is partially based on the high concentrate of HA (15 mg/mL), one of the highest concentrates currently available in a multi-injection treatment.
The advantages of Orthovisc are a reduction in joint pain and improvement in functionality, and the injections are based on natural, non-animal sourced hyaluronic acid. The results of Orthovisc are long-lasting and can last in up to 26 weeks.
