SYNVISC 


Synvisc is an osteoarthritis pain relief treatment intended for the treatment of especially the knee, but also hips, ankles and shoulders. As the patient ages, the body reduces its natural production of hyaluronic acid contect. It’s a substance found in the synovial of the joints. This decreases the joints’ lubrication and causing the bones in the joints to rub together as they move. This causes intense pain and inflammation, also called osteoarthritis. When injecting Sunvisc lost synovial fluid is replaced, (lubricating the joints), so they can function optimally. Using Synvisc inflammation and pain should be reduced and allow the patient to regain comfort. 
 

Synvisc injections are approved for the treatment of pain in patients with osteoarthritis who have failed to respond to a more conservative therapy, such as non-drug treatment options. Synvisc is considered to be a safe and effective means of treating pain and disability for people with osteoarthritis, when used appropriately, may help to postpone a surgery etc.

Relief from pain can last up to 6 to 12 months depending on the number of treatments.
